Brookfield's Select Board decided to interview all four finalists for town administrator next week after a volunteer search committee narrowed 45 resumes to four candidates it could not rank. Search committee member Jeff Clark told the board the panel conducted 13 phone screens and six in-person interviews, with two finalists submitting detailed 90-day plans. Clerk Beth Coughlin pushed for a shared scoring rubric, saying it would help the board "find the person you think fits the best." The board also raised the posted salary for the vacant highway superintendent job to $105,000, appointed Pamela Fitzgerald to the Board of Health, and voted to dispose of a tax-delinquent Kimball Street parcel carrying roughly $27,000 in unpaid taxes.
Vice Chair Richard A. Chaffee recused himself from the Board of Health vote, citing his septic-installation business.
