BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Select Board appointed Blythe Robinson as interim town administrator and opened the warrant for the town's June 4 annual town meeting. Select Board member Sarah Campbell moved the appointment after a one-on-one conversation with Robinson, saying she felt "a lot more positive" about it. The board approved end-of-year transfers after the police department returned $90,000 in unused wages, which Executive Assistant Karen Trainor Resseguie said covered several shortfalls; she also disclosed a lapse left dental and vision coverage shut off for three months.
Warrant work set a $100,000 placeholder for a Town Hall chairlift, $25,000 for 250th anniversary events and zeroed out a disputed $1,500 library director longevity payment at the Advisory Board's recommendation. Officials also cited an 8.9 percent mid-year health insurance increase tied to GLP-1 drug costs.
