BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Select Board appointed a five-member search committee to find a permanent town administrator and put off a vote on an interim hire for one more week. Members Sarah Campbell, Richard A. Chaffee and Beth L. Coughlin unanimously named Jeff Clark, Lori Barchus, Kermit Eaton, Peter Mazusa and Michael Seary to the panel, with Sean Mulligan and Holly Chisholm as alternates. Coughlin said she wanted a week to confirm how many hours an interim candidate, identified only as Blake, could commit to the town, saying "I don't think it's the end of the world" to wait.
Chaffee said he missed part of the candidate's interview after a dropped remote connection. The board also accepted a $21,200 bid from Yankee to repair the town hall bell tower and approved roughly $9,900 in Bishop and Associates assessing contracts.
