Other Committee · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Brookfield Select Board clears Kimbell Street items, confronts a water contract deadline. Meeting remotely Wednesday, the board signed warrants for $204,126.33 in payroll and $1,005,660.47 in accounts payable, then approved a Central Mass Regional Planning Commission program extension for Kimbell Street to December 31, 2026, change order No. 4 on the same project, and payment of CMRPC invoice No. 32, each by 2-0 roll-call votes from members identified as Coughlin and Campbell. A staffer identified as Ryan told the board the town's water contract, expiring September 17, likely requires two separate 30-day extension votes rather than one combined action, and that bid documents for a new contract were largely ready.

"I don't want to run out of the 60-day window without doing the bid," one member said. The board set an additional remote meeting for September 16 to focus on the water contract.
