Brookfield Board of Health clears open meeting law complaint tied to months of unapproved minutes.
Other Committee · Meeting of July 30, 2026
Brookfield Board of Health clears open meeting law complaint tied to months of unapproved minutes. Members unanimously approved minutes from March 25, April 29 and July 14, 2026, then adopted a formal response to a complaint alleging the delays violated the state's open meeting law, dating the letter July 15, 2026 after a mid-meeting correction. Resident JD Holcroft pressed the board on permitting at two businesses, including White's Landing, saying "these people got permits eight years ago, and nothing got approved," while a board member countered that a regional health coalition reported 35 town permits, three conditional, with nothing outstanding.
The board also outlined a joint-interview process for hiring a permanent clerk, with members planning an early-August special meeting. The session adjourned at 6:49 p.m.
